Job Information

The Graphic Designer supports strategic and efficient public communications across the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) by working with colleagues to consistently plan, implement and monitor communications activities within an ever-changing communications landscape. The Corporate Communications team has responsibility for delivering a GNWT corporate communications program that integrates the work of all government departments.

The role requires a skillset in the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, proportion, rhythm, emphasis, and unity and delivering quality design at a high volume in a short time frame.

There is required knowledge of and ability to adhere to the GNWT Visual Identity Program (VIP). The ability to actively uphold and consistently practice personal diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness, as well as safety and sensitivity approaches in the workplace.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by completion of a diploma in graphic design or visual communications or a related field, and two (2) years of experience in graphic design or visual communications.
